The 2019 WFTDA Bracket Challenge is a competition ("the Sweepstakes") based on results of the 2019 WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs, Continental Cups and Championship tournament events ("the Tournaments"), taking place from August to November 2019.
Participants in the Sweepstakes will attempt to select the winners of each of the WFTDA Playoffs and Championship tournaments. Participants will earn points by correctly predicting the winning teams in each bout of the Tournaments; the exact number of points awarded in this Sweepstakes is set forth in the Making Picks section below. The Winner of each tournament will be awarded to the Participant with the highest score, or, in the event of a tie, a Participant randomly-selected from the pool of tied highest-scoring Participants.
The Sweepstakes will begin on August 9, 2019 and will run through the final game of the Tournament scheduled for November 11, 2019 ("Sweepstakes Period").
The Sweepstakes is FREE to play. No purchase or entry fee necessary to enter or win.
The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association ("WFTDA") will serve as the Administrator of Sweepstakes and will be responsible for resolving any disputes that arise regarding violations of the rules.
To be eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes, you must be: (a) a Registered User (defined below), (b) not a WFTDA employee, (c) not a skater or official for the Tournament in which the Registered User has submitted a bracket, (d) at least eighteen years old at the date of entry in this Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited by law.
You do not have to participate in the bracket game for all the tournaments. You may not register more than one bracket under one valid email address.
For purposes of these Official Rules, "Registered User" means a person who has successfully completed the registration form and has obtained a User Identification (“ID”) and associated password (“Password”) through the wftda.tv website. There is no fee or charge to become a Registered User, and you can access right here on wftda.tv.
Your bracket for each tournament MUST be filled out and posted online through the Sweepstakes site by 10:00 AM in the time zone in which the specific tournament is being held on the Friday of each tournament. For example, the Winston Salem playoff bracket must be completed by 10:00 am EST on September 6, 2019. Each individual Sweepstakes ends after the completion of the final bout for each tournament. In the event of a tie, the winners will be chosen at random from the group with the highest points.
Participants will enter their projected winners of each bout in the Tournaments, for the chance to correctly predict the outcome.
The winners will be announced within one week of the conclusion of each tournament. WFTDA reserves the right to end or retract the game and any portion of the game at any time. Prizes may vary, based on availability. Questions about the brackets may be sent to brackets@wftda.com.
Notification of winners will be sent to the email on your account. It is the responsibility of the winner to respond and provide personal details for sending out physical and digital prizes. If there is no response after 30 days of prize announcement, another winner will be picked from the next highest-scoring entrant. In result of a tie, a winner will be picked at random from the pool of highest-scoring entrants.
